OPC UA Implementation
with S2OPC

This training serves as a logical progression from the “OPC UA Key Concepts” course offered by Systerel. It begins with a comprehensive exploration of the S2OPC higher level interface, written in Python.

Participants are expected to have a foundational understanding of key OPC UA concepts, such as address space nodes and references, secure channels, read and write services and subscription services.

The training is highly practical, with participants building demo applications using S2OPC. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to information security, with a focus on its practical implementation and configuration within S2OPC.

Objectives

Set up requirements for building S2OPC (docker or dependencies)
Understand the server and client APIs and libraries
Develop applications in Python and in C
Configure applications (security, address space,…)

Pre-requisites

Advanced OPC UA knowledge
Knowledge of the C programming language
Basic knowledge of the Python programming language
Basic knowledge of networks, computer science and standard protocols (IP, TCP, UDP)

Assessment

Assessment questionnaires will be established at the beginning and end of the training to evaluate the acquired knowledge.
